Project Carpool is an initiative to expand the carpooling program at Miramonte. Over the past school year, Patrick Ouziel and I directed promotional videos that demonstrated students' success with carpooling to school. These videos are available on our “videos” page. Carpool groups that support the expansion of Miramonte’s carpool program can sign up on our “Sign-up Your Carpool Group” page, and potential carpoolers can sign up on our “Sign-Up to Carpool” page. At the end of the school year, we presented our pledges to the Miramonte administration and agreed that the entire senior lot next year will be exclusively carpool.

Further expansion of the carpool program will be taking place next year, with the help of Miramonte's Environmental Club. We hope to increase the use of PooltoSchool, a southwest Contra Costa County site that matches potential carpoolers with other students looking to carpool. Our hope is that through promoting carpool, we can increase awareness of environmentally friendly transportation among high school students.
